Anna Seghers Memorial Place - Academy of Arts Archive
Anna Seghers is an important German author and lived from 1900 to 1983. Her communistic attitude led to a differentiated acceptance of her work in both German states. The academy of arts received her complete inheritance. Her apartment’s original condition is well-preserved. All three rooms are open to public and accommodate amongst other things the extensive library and THE typewriter. Pictures and documents colorfully show the author’s life and work.
Visitors can also see movies about Anna Segher’s work in a separate video-room. F. e. “Das Vertrauen” (Faith), “Die Entscheidung” (the descision), “Das Siebte Kreuz” (the 7th cross)
