Our main concern is to bring Berlin’s south-east with its tourist attractions and service providers to the wider market. Apart from the publishing of information and marketing material, participating in the tourist trade and taking part in public fairs are very important to us. The number of companies who appear with us at trade fairs increases every year. The close collaboration with hotels, restaurants, shipping companies, leisure and adventure parks, bus tour operators, places of cultural interest, galleries, aquatic sports companies, theatres and artists from all over Berlin makes it possible for us to offer our guests the whole spectrum from adventure and recreation to sports, fun and cultural events. The range of offers includes Treptow-Köpenick, Berlin’s centre in combination with excursions to Brandenburg, e.g Potsdam or the Spreewald.

Events

We develop and carry out events for both Berliners and guests in Treptow-Köpenick in order to bring its touristic development forward. We make our events distinctive and unforgetable by designing them thematically and carrying them out at reliable locations. With these events we hope to create an appeal to visit our region, by sparking media interest and bringing Treptow-Köpenick’s degree of popularity and its positive image forward.

We inform local and regional as well as national and international media about interesting events, new developments and concrete projects of the touristic development in Berlin’s south-east.  We publish up-to-date news or invite the press and media to conferences. Tourist-Information

Our tourist information is located in Köpenick’s old town centre, in the heart of Treptow-Köpenick’s touristic town. We take care of the individual supervision of visitors, of single guests or families, small or large parties. Our tourist information offers all in one information and guidance, booking and even souvenirs. Holiday rooms, holiday flats, guest houses as well as ****hotels with lake / river views are available in our district. We offer tickets for Berlin theatres, concerts, open-air-events, musicals, sight seeing tours by bus or boat as well as information material about our region, hiking suggestions, maps of trails, city maps, brochures and typical Berlin souvenirs – which of course feature the captain of Köpenick.

Our special service in Berlin: We pick you up at your preferred location at any time of the day and show you the city’s highlights. Your tour’s course is due to your own individual time schedule and takes place in clear stages. So why shouldn’t you choose to explore a certain distance on foot if the weather is nice? „Water tourism“

The constant increase of small boat traffic has made water tourism very important. In order to make landing easier the “Tourismusverein” has developed the information system “GELBE WELLE” (yellow wave), which avoids unnecessary searching on the water.

Our concern is to establish the identification of landing possibilities by using the “GELBE WELLE” nationwide and therefore contributing to an improvement of the infrastructure on the water. For a better nationwide commercialisation, the rights concerning the “GELBE WELLE” were assigned to the “Deutscher Tourismusverband” (DTV) in 2004.  

It is a symbol which stands for hospitality, service, security, leisure time and recreation. It can be purchased at the DTV by communes, associations, boathouses and marinas, hotels and restaurants. A classification is planned to assure quality management and services in the future.

You will find a central index of all locations that are labelled with the “GELBE WELLE” at www.gelbe-welle.de as a service for specific tour planning and furthermore the PHARUS publisher has edited a map of water trails in which all locations are listed. Locations are also registered in the brochure “Holidays on the water”.

Watertouristic Guidance System for Berlin

Since 2006, Berlin has a watertouristic guidance system designed by the “Tourismusverein”. It points out tourist features and helps to find destinations and waterbodies at more than 100 locations.

Rest stops for water explorers in Treptow-Köpenick

For aquatic sports (canoe, etc.) we have developed a concept which provides 19 rest stops for water explorers in Berlins “bluest” district. Thus, interesting new routes between Berlin and Brandenburg have been developed for paddlers and canoeists.
