Köpenick Museum of Local History

The Köpenick museum of local history opened in 1991 and is located in a timbered house from 1665 which was restored from 1995 – 1999 within the program “Städtebaulicher Denkmalschutz” (urbanistic monument conservation).

Besides a variety of the most important archaeological discoveries of the last centuries in Köpenick, the city’s and districts most important chapters are presented and illustrated by adequate exhibits.

The house’s exhibiting emphasis mainly results from the companies, fisheries and laundries which traditionally settled in Köpenick. Special exhibitions take place every year.
