Cultural center „Alte Schule“ (old school)
On June 5, 1998 a local cultural institution for Treptow was opened in Berlin-Adlershof, Dörpfeldstraße. After an extensive restoration, this district’s first village school and one of Treptow’s oldest buildings offer a lot not only to the district’s citizens.
Today, the old school is a multifunctional and resort spanning center for all different kinds of interests and generations. Besides the gallery of contemporary art the house also accommodates the Stefan-Heym-Library, a senior venue, a country snuggery and a small archive, numerous clubs and since 2005 the culture department and the art rental.
