Route description

The tour starts at the S-Bahn station Spindlersfeld and leads over the Lange Brücke into the old town of Köpenick with its castle island.

On the Schloßinsel is the only preserved baroque castle in Berlin. Today the moated castle of the Hohenzollern family houses the Museum of Decorative Arts for European Spatial Art of the National Museums in Berlin. The palace park opens up charming views across the water and attracts visitors with events in the summer.

The old town enchants with its special flair: winding alleys and streets and a multitude of nice pubs, cafés and stores.

The town hall Köpenick became famous all over Europe because of the trick of the shoemaker Voigt, who stole the town treasury in 1906. Even heute the Köpenickiade lives on in numerous performances as well as in the permanent exhibition in the town hall.
The tour continues over the dam bridge along the Lindenstraße to the mouth of the Wuhle.  Here it becomes sporty: the largest BMX and skate park (Mellowpark) as well as the station of the old forest ranger of the 1.FC Union are right next door.  For all shopping enthusiasts, a break at the Forum Köpenick is a must.

From the mouth of the Wuhle, the signposted cycle path leads along the Wuhle in a northerly direction. Here you will find an adventure playground for the little ones, the butterfly meadows with traces of Germanic and Slavic settlements and the Wuhletal landscape park.
It is worth a detour to the Biesdorf Castle Park with its castle, to the left of the Wuhletal S-Bahn and U-Bahn station, before continuing along the Wuhle to the Gardens of the World.
